Our conductor is Bob Toomer who has recently received an award for 50 years of service to the Gloucestershire Brass Bands Association.
Summer sees us playing at lots of fetes and outdoor events and at Christmas of course we go carolling.
We also play for Monmouth and Catbrook Remembrance day services.
The highlight of our banding year is the Monmouthshire Show where we play
for three 1 hour sessions
and have our own tent with an all day picnic. We've played at the Show every year since 1976.
The band was actually formed in 1968 and we still have some of the founder members playing with us.
We also aim to do 2 fairly formal concerts a year to raise money for charity.
We have a huge library of music all looked after by Graham, one of the founder members of the band
We have all ages and abilities...
Our Band charity is the Gondar Eye Hospital in Ethiopia which is run by Sandy Holt-Wilson who is a long term trombone player with the band.
